Our Dogs, Marcel & Lola – Album 1Okay, there are some pictures in this album that some of you have already seen, but it’s been a while since we sent out pictures of our two critters (um, puppies). This album is a collection of photos taken during our second visit to see them at the rescue to their second week with us to present. Enjoy until the next album! We hope to do better with sharing pictures earlier in the future.
Initially, we had intended to go to Costa Rica in July for our big trip of 2008. Due to Abraham’s work obligations, we had to cancel the trip. John had been to Rio several times as his father grew up there. He had always wanted to show Abraham Rio, so it became our “substitute.” This was actually John’s first time in Rio during the summer – Rio’s summer that is.

Ipanema – December 2008 & January 2009Most of our time in Rio was spent on the beach in Ipanema. This album is a collection of some of the pictures taken while on the beach. To fully experience what it is like to be on Ipanema, you have to go in person. We tried to capture the most that we could in picture, but if you haven’t been to Rio, we highly recommend at least a week.
Sunsets, Clouds & Views of Rio – December 2008 & January 2009Have you ever been on a beach and witnessed people applaud the sunset daily? That is quintessential Rio! This album includes some of the wonderful sunsets, clouds and views that we experienced.
Reveillon 2009 – December 31, 2008The best New Year’s Eve celebration of our life thus far. The estimate is that two million people were on Copacabana Beach for this event. From what we saw, it felt like that; however, it was so easy to get around. That was due to the fact that we walked from our apartment and stayed away from the main stage.
Jardim Botanico – January 2009Our other non-beach tourist activity was visiting the beautiful Jardim Botanico (Botanical Gardens). Abraham becomes picture-crazy in gardens, but we’ve tried to keep this succinct.

These albums contain the remaining pictures from the Turkey leg of our summer 2007 vacation. After Istanbul, we flew to Antalya and drove along the western coast of Turkey. Enjoy the albums!

Cirali was the first stop after Istanbul. Highlights of this village include the ruins of Olympos, the flames of Chimera, and cheap, freshly-squeezed orange juice. It was totally different from Istanbul.
